Runic Divination

  • It’s pretty similar to many other divinatory styles. You’ll pick the reading that best meets your needs. I’ll perform the reading and give you the results. If you choose to have your reading done live on my booking page, then we’ll do the reading together over a digital meeting.

    I’ve noticed that compared to other divinatory methods, rune readings tend to be pragmatic, practical, and generally more straightforward than you would otherwise get.

    I like to think the reasons behind that are based in how heathen spirituality functions. Everything is determined by individual choice. Agency and self determination are foremost in making your future. Runes illuminate your path and shows your options, but your future is made by you.

  • This depends on you. We can do a live reading or I can perform the reading on my own and supply you with a recording or a written document with the details (useful if you need to translate it).

  • That depends on your need and your budget.

    Take a look at all of the options. Think about them and about the information you’re seeking. Pick whatever feels right to you.

  • You can ask any sort of question - I work with what you bring to the table. That said, you don’t actually have to tell me your question if you don’t want to. I’ll still be able able to read for you whether you share or not, so you get to decide what you are comfortable with telling me.

    Please do tell me if you want to know specific feedback - but even then you can anonymize it if you want. (“Should I go into field A or field B?”)

  • f you’re not sure what you want from a reading, my default is to ask for “what do you need in your life right now?”

    If you have a question and you’re not certain how to put it forward, focus on these two things: 1) the issue at play and 2) the parts of the issue you have control over.

    For example, if you have a fight with your boyfriend, you might ask “How can I get him to agree with me?”

    The better question is, “How do I communicate my needs/feelings/boundaries?” and then perhaps, “What should I do if he ignores that?”

    But - no matter what, your privacy is of foremost importance. If you tell me, “The issue is my relationship,” then that’s perfect for me.

  • They are ancient, and they are sacred.

    There are records by Tacitus (a Roman historian) from 98 AD describing how a rune cast is performed. The earliest Tarot cards emerged in the 1440s, in comparison. Runes are one of the oldest divinations systems still in existence

    Odin is said to have plucked the runes directly from the wyrd as he hanged by his neck from Yggdrasil, the world tree. He hung for nine days and nights, bleeding from a stab wound in side for the whole duration.

    It is Odin who is said to have given the knowledge of the runes and their meanings to mankind.

    From a more secular angle, the runes allowed the Norse people to access all the benefits of written language, culture, and history, in addition to being used for magic and divination. This ancient culture was interrupted by the expansion of Christianity, but has been reconstructed from surviving source materials. The religion is called Asatru, but you can also find good sources under pagan heathenism or Norse Heathenry.

    The runes are inextricably tied to the wyrd - the Norse conception of fate and the fabric of the universe. Everyone’s path is woven into it.

  • Yes. Absolutely.

    Think of fate as a tapestry. Each of us is an individual strand woven through time. The tapestry is the wyrd, and our personal strands is called orlog.

    Everyone who exists has a strand in the grand tapestry.

    Everyone can read and be read for because we’re all part of the tapestry of the wyrd.

    If you’re curious about runes, I invite you to make a set to try out! You can start out with popsicle sticks, or even writing down the runes on a slip of paper. It doesn’t need to be expensive. See how you like them before you buy yourself anything fancy.

Spellwork

  • These spells have come from Rune Games by Marijane Osborn and Stella Longland in 1982. It was important to offer only things that I could clearly cite runic sources, rather than providing practices based in other traditions.

    If I find other spellwork or practices, they will be added once I’ve vetted them. In the meantime, however, I have 29 spells, one for each rune in the Anglo-Saxon futhorc. The spells derive their meaning and power from the Anglo-Saxon rune poem and the Hávamál.

  • Sure are! They are still in my inventory, but I wasn’t comfortable listing them for general sale. If you need something that isn’t listed, message me, and I’ll approve them on a case by case basis

    I do not perform love or coercion spells under any circumstances

  • My spells are designed to have two parts. The first part is my part, where I set up the spell and toss it out into the world. The second part is what the spell requires of you (or the person you purchased the spell for).

    This can be anything from an action to a stance that you must hold. The runes will tell me what is necessary and I will communicate that to you.

    You can decide not to proceed at any time and the spell will become inert. Additionally, if you purchase the spell on behalf of another person, then they will need to complete what the runes ask of them for success.

    This structure is the best way to cast with runes because runes are designed to measure and observe how someone is bringing energy into themselves, and how they are giving it back. They provide a path for success and tell you how to walk it.

  • They’re pretty similar, but there is a major difference of objective, and the spells will always provide an action that you can take. Readings provide a great deal of information about your life, and you can act based on that info, whereas spells provide less personal data but will always give you an act that you can start with.

  • The five rune cast is effective and serviceable in most situations. It is the cheaper of the two options.

    The 11 rune cast is best for nuanced or in depth casting. It gives the spell more access points to take a hold of the situation with, and it adapts better to long term changes that could affect it. It is priced between $5-$10 more than the 5 rune cast.

    Both versions indicate what is necessary from you for the spell to successfully manifest, and both spell methods offer information on what you need to look for specifically in order to see if the spell is completed.

  • Spellwork will be completed in the order it was received during the business hours displayed in the footer of the website.

    If I am unable to perform a spell for whatever reason, I will refund the cost. Once the spellwork is performed and has been delivered, there will be no refunds.

Housekeeping

  • Never. On anything ever.

    I don’t believe that AI isn’t a good thing to integrate into this setting because it’s input is 1) not truly random, and 2) designed to please and placate. It will tell you what you want to hear, but not what you need to hear.

  • Runes were used during World War Two by Germans in order to supplement their nationalist propaganda and to justify genocide. They are currently being coopted by white supremacist and neo-fascist groups.

    ‍Runic divination now is a part of a reconstructed religion called Asatru, which is based upon salvaged historical, cultural, and religious practices (such as worship of Odin, Loki, Thor, Frig, Freya, and many more). Within Asatru, you can find people who believe that any part of their religion belongs solely to people who can trace their ancestry back to the original practitioners of the faith (read: are white).

    They are not the only part of the religion - like any faith, there are people who disagree with them (myself included), but the presence of white supremacy must always be addressed.

    I want to make it clear: The future belongs to everyone. Anyone can have a runic reading, and anyone can learn to read the runes if they wish to.

  • Soulmates

    There are many people in the world who you could love or who could love you. You make a life partner by deciding each day to love someone actively and to support them, and by having them return that care to you. The runes are firmly grounded. They’ll tell you what you must do to be ready for love and help you to seize it when you are ready.

    I will not offer love spells of any kind on this website.

    Medical advice

    • Energy healing: I can read you for filth but I can’t align your chakras.

    • Physical health: If you have been physically harmed, please seek treatment from a medical facility. If you have an ongoing health condition, I can do a reading about how to navigate that, but I cannot treat your condition.

    • Emotional health: Runes can be a wonderful supplement to a mental health care set up, but in the end, you must do the heavy lifting required to improve your situation, and often that means getting help from a psychiatrist or therapist. I can help support your efforts, but I cannot replace a medical professional.

    Legal advice

    I do not have a law degree. I can tell you what the runes suggest, and only that. If you are determined to use magic to navigate the legal system, then you must balance that against your legal counsel and your best judgement. Please just listen to your attorney.

  • With the transactional nature of getting a divinatory reading online or purchasing spellwork, I thought it best to have a code of conduct to delineate what behavior is expected and acceptable in this context.

    What I expect from you:

    • Basic courtesy

    • Payment due at time of service

    What to expect from me:

    • Right to approach at your own speed:

      • You do not need to believe in anything in particular in order to have a reading or have spellwork performed.

      • Whether you think divination is garbage or which (if any) deities you worship does not affect my process. You can have any connection (or none at all) to the divine. All are welcome.

      • You do not need to trust me. I am a strange person on the internet selling witchcraft. It is okay to feel dubious or uncertain in this setting. I will work to earn your trust. In the meantime, I will meet you where you are and we’ll go from there.

    • Privacy:

      • All readings and spellwork will be completed in a contained environment. At no point will there be another person with me who might overhear your private information.

      • If a reading or a spell is purchased on behalf of another individual, contact information of that individual must be provided so the reading can be delivered directly to them.

    • Safety:

      • All information given to Runeboon.com or to myself will be contained in secure, encrypted locations.

    • Honesty and transparency:

      • I will never misrepresent what arises in a reading or in spellwork to my own gain. I will be as forthcoming as possible with the process of getting these services done in terms of scheduling and logistics.

    • Consent:

      • I do not perform a reading or spell without the querent’s explicit consent. If you are purchasing a reading for yourself, consent is given via the act of purchase.

      • If you are purchasing a reading for another individual, the reading will be provided to them directly, and they can choose whether to engage with it or not.

  • Because I’m awesome at this.

    Learning should be free, but expertise requires cultivation. If you want to start doing readings and magic for yourself, I applaud you. For some things however, you will find that you need an expert hand, or even an external source of verification. When that time comes, I would be happy to assist you.
